SL Construction Services were selected as preferred bidder by Asda and Marks & Spencer to install a new bespoke car park waterproofing and coloured surfacing to the new Flag Ship Retail Development Barons Quay at Northwich in Cheshire. A major factor in the selection of SL Construction Services was their ability to provide a roof top car park solution to two levels circa 26,000m² and install 212m of specialist movement joints and lining works.
Early Contractor involvement allowed the design team, Balfour Beatty and SL Construction Services to agree details, value engineer solutions and manage all building interfaces. One key factor when working with Asda and Marks & Spencer was selecting and installation coloured layours and designs. The engineering design saw a steel frame constructed with a monolithic concrete slab to farm the roof of a 26,000m² retail store to be used as car park. Early involvement meant works were phased and planned to ensure the system was not damaged as construction work progressed ahead of programme. The rapid application as well as the speed of the on-site team ensured that the work was completed ahead of time. SL Construction Services provided a comprehensive package of technical, planning and quality assurance expertise to ensure smooth project delivery.
